This week I had the pleasure of touring this exclusive new wedding venue in the heart of Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. I’ve had a few enquiries come through for weddings here so made a point of taking a look in person and all I can say is wow.... this place definitely exceeded my already high expectations.
Driving along the country lanes towards the venue, you see the Grade II listed country house peak through the trees and you can already feel the luxury. Walking through the black doors into the foyer, you feel like you’ve just stepped into a high end hotel and it doesn’t end there. The venue has 24 accommodation rooms in the main house and outdoor stable block (including pet friendly rooms), all decorated to an extremely high standard, with the bridal suite being absolutely incredible.
Ceremonies are held downstairs in the main house and have a ‘waiting room’ where the bride and bridesmaids can sit (perhaps with a cheeky drink or two) while guests take their seats. The ceremony room itself is bright and modern, in keeping with the rest of the venue’s interior.
Outdoor ceremonies are also available on the patio overlooking the lake (weather permitting)
There are so many spaces outside for incredible group and couples shots it is almost hard to choose!
My head is still running wild with ideas for shots at this venue. A personal favourite of mine is the side profile of the house with the staircases meeting at the balcony to the bridal suite. I imagine this being an amazing spot for confetti throws as well as my epic group shots.
For the wedding meals and evening entertainment the venue has an impressive 'K room' (similar to the one at Fairyhill if you've ever visited) surrounded by ceiling to floor curved windows and amazing natural light. The room is attached to a bar which looks like it could be a high end restaurant on its own and there is a corner where your evening DJ, band, singer can all set up.
Did someone say midnight pizza?
One of the added extras I love about this venue is the kitchen/dining area in the main house! If you book your wedding here, you and your guests have exclusive use of the entire venue including these areas, imagine getting everyone together after the reception and munching down some midnight pizza to soak up the alcohol? Don't you just love that idea!? Or is it just me?
